Finally, Elden Ring players on PC have the ability to face off against the true final boss of Souls games: Hidetaka Miyazaki. Nexus Mods user MRRCrychicQing has made a hilarious new mod that swaps the character models for Miquella the Kind riding on the back of Promised Consort Radahn, with FromSoftware president Hidetaka Miyazaki and the mischievous character Patches, respectively.

When users make the arduous journey through FromSoftware’s highly-rated, recently released Elden Ring DLC, they’ll be confronted with several bosses (and mini bosses) that put even the most skilled players to the test. However, arguably none compare to the unrelenting, ferocious final foe in the Land of Shadow. Promised Consort Radahn is widely considered to be the hardest boss in the game, let alone the DLC. It’s an intimidating battle where the imposing warrior rushes the player with two massive Starscourge Greatswords. The first phase of the fight is difficult enough, but becomes exponentially more dangerous once Miquella enters the fray adding god-like holy powers to follow up Radahn’s aggressive melee attacks.
With the mod, cleverly titled “Patches - Promised Consort Miyazaki,” players will be greeted instead by a giant version of Patches, a recurring character in FromSoftware’s Souls franchise dating back to Demon’s Souls. Swapping Starscourge Greatswords for the series’ iconic Moonlight Greatswords, Patches will attack with the same ferocity as Radahn. But once he’s down to half health, he’ll be joined by FromSoftware president and director of Elden Ring himself, Hidetaka Miyazaki, holding on to Patches with both arms around his chest, piggyback style.

While swapping character models is funny enough, the author took it a step further by making the first line Miquella speaks “My loyal blade. And champion who preordered the DLC,” and changing “Promised Consort Radahn” to “Promised Consort Patches” for the boss’ title. When the dynamic duo are brought down to a fraction of their health, Miyazaki tells the player, “The new game will be released next month, and there are still 22 Elden Ring DLCs to be done.” Though the mod may look perfectly harmless, MRRCrychicQing also took it upon themselves to make the fight even harder by filling the enormous arena with a pool of poison, and death blight-spewing basilisks for good measure.

Released on Thursday, July 11, the mod has already been downloaded by over 200 people looking to make their dark fantasy experience a little lighter. MRRCrychicQing includes detailed instructions on the Nexus Mods page for installation in both English and Chinese languages.
The seemingly first-time modder gave proper credit to ngovandang, a popular Nexus author and the original creator of Miyazaki’s character model. The model was initially used in their ‘Miyazaki as Sekiro’ mod for Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, which allowed PC users to play through the entire stealth-action game as its creator. Modder ngovandang has produced mods for several other games, including, but not limited to Dark Souls III, Dark Souls: Remastered, and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.
Elden Ring is home to a vibrant and passionate community of modders, and with the release of Shadow of the Erdtree, players should expect many more hilarious, substantive, and downright weird mods to come.
